Red Key Proceedure?

hi ive have now fitted all the lockes and the barrel, at the moment i am having to take my red key with me to turn off the imobaliser, can anyone tell me how to do the reprogaming of my new key please, i have searched but i cant find it anywhere

KEY REPROGRAMMING

 

 

Up to 98

 

 

-----Insert the RED master key intp the ignition switch and turn to position II. When the led illuminates, turn the key to position O and remove the key.

 

 

-----Check the led goes off and then illuminates again for two seconds. The system is now in the programming mode for ten seconds.

 

 

-----Insert the slave key to be programmed and turn to position II. the led will fdlash once to indicate that the has been programmed. Turn the key to position O and remove the key.

 

 

-----To programme additional keys it is necessary to re-insert the red master key and restart this procedure.....

do you need the sequence to programme the remote keys----------------let us know how you get on,,,,,,,,,I am very tempted to buy the item you got from ebay-------but I do not have the red key

right i tried that, i have the new barrel in so i am putting the red key in the pats ring well away from the ignition barrel then using me new key to do the turning, however when i turn it the led (the one on the door) comes on straight away, but when i turn it off again and take it out it dosnt flash again.

 

any ideas plaese

ps, using this meathod i am able to start the car and drive it.

 

pps, just tried again and noticed the the red led seems to be on all the time although very dimmly when not doing anything.

i tried to program the remote key but in the end i dont think i have remote centerel locking :P

Can you not remove the new pats ring from your new ignition barrel and fit your original pats ring

its not on the barrel its a big black ring that you can unclip from the barrel housing

Assuming the new keys are coded to the new pats ring,,,,,,try and remove the new pats ring on the barrel housing and fit your old pats ring and then try to program the new keys to your pats ring,,,,,,if it wont work then you may need the help of fraud :angry:

Do you have a little black dome above your rear view mirror and another at the back of the car above the hi-level brake light?

The PATS ring on the barrel is just the antenna for the PATS system, it does not come with the new barrel.
